Leadership with Results (2023–2025 Highlights)

Serving as City Councilor for District 1 has been an honor. My leadership is grounded in strategy, kindness, transparency, and collaboration, with a strong focus on listening, learning, and delivering practical results for Montpelier.

Key Accomplishments

  • Secured $1 Million+ in Sustainable Funding
    Supported approval of the Local Option Sales Tax, generating over $600,000 annually for downtown vitality, infrastructure, and city services.
  • Improved How City Government Works
    Launched weekly continuous-improvement work with staff, beginning with modernizing the committee application process to reduce paperwork and expand public participation.
  • Expanded Childcare Capacity
    Co-led the Childcare Taskforce and brought First Children’s Finance to Montpelier to identify needs and grow childcare options across Washington County.
  • Strengthened Economic Development
    Served as Co-Chair of the Economic Development Subcommittee, working to identify barriers and advance long-term economic vitality.
  • Advanced Housing at Country Club Road
    Helped move the RFQ/RFP process forward for housing on city-owned land and co-led community engagement through Vision Montpelier.
  • Advanced Regional Solutions to Homelessness
    Helped convene a regional homelessness conference bringing together providers, legislators, city staff, and people with lived experience.
  • Boosted Community Connection & Local Economy
    Supported the launch of Mud Fest and Winterfest with Montpelier Alive and city staff.
  • Prioritized Transparency & Communication
    Issued monthly newsletters, responded quickly to constituents, and supported District 1 residents through FEMA recovery processes.
  • Provided Steady Leadership During Transition
    Advocated for a respectful, transparent city manager transition and a community-centered search for new leadership.
